clue to that contestant (e.g., "He DIDN'T write, "All that glitters is not gold.'") and then asks contestant "Do you want to recant?" If contestant does not recant AND gets the answer right, then he or she scores one point. If contestant does not recant but gets the answer wrong, he or she is dragged away and replaced by another contestant (who begins anew with five turns). If contestant does recant, he or she must turn over a Turns Left card and the question is thrown away. Before beginning again with the next question, all contestants turn over their Turns Left cards to the next lower number (a recanter turns over a second card). After five turns, a contestant is replaced and his or her score recorded. After several people have had turns, have two or more semi-finals, and then a final round. (Note: Correct answer is Sir Walter Scott.)

Equipment: Four microphones, lock-out buzzer system (available with old Electric Jeopardy games that you can buy on Ebay), three sets of score cards (going from 1 to 5), three sets of Turns Left cards (going from 5 to 1), list of questions and clues. How played: Inquisitor Emcee sends two costumed henchmen into the audience to drag three contestants up on stage. Each contestant gets five turns. Emcee asks a trivia question (e.g., "Who wrote, 'Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive'?") First contestant to hit buzzer gets a chance to answer. Emcee then gives a second
