The Armageddon Ball
"Party Like There's No Tomorrow"

Decorations

Tablecloths:  Instead of renting tablecloths (for $8.50 apiece!), I bought a bunch of white sheets and tablecloths at thrift shops for about $1 each.  I made a cheap dye out of ground annatto seeds (available at Latin markets) mixed with baking soda in hot water.  It turned the cloth an intense, natural orange that fit in with the medieval dinner theme.

Balloon drop:  I bought hundreds of Qualatex  balloons on Ebay for 1 cent each (they had "Grand Opening Celebration" printed on them).  I plan to put several hundred of them (plus some confetti) in a giant balloon drop bag that will be suspended over the dance floor and pulled down at midnight.  I plan to make a giant drop bag out of a large disposable drop cloth taped together with wide masking tape.  I'll put some cord down the middle of the tape to serve as a ripcord.  I'll put coupons in three of the balloons that can be redeemed for prizes.

Inflatable wig heads:  I bought a box of 100 inflatable wig heads on Ebay.  Some kids will decorate them to look like famous people of the second millennium and then we'll hang them along the inside of tent.  Some of the heads will be mounted on "spikes" with red streamers flowing down for our  Inquisition Game Show.
